how to cover cording.

Cording is a great way to add detail to a pillow, bag, or outfit.
It is inexpensive and simple to make!!
You can find it packaged or by the yard at most sewing supply stores.
It comes in many sizes, small and large.
It just depends on what you are using it for.
Here is a simple explanation on how to make it!
Let's make cording!!
First you will need to cut strips that are long enough to go around what you are making.
I am making a pillow so I just added together the pillow circumference.
{Ex. 13 + 13 +24 + 24 = 74"}
I cut 2'' strips of my fabric.
If you are doing smaller cording that will be used on an outfit I suggest you cut it on the bias.

I needed to cut 2 widths of my fabric, so I just sewed the ends together to make one long piece!

Cut your cording the same length… I am using  ¼’’ wide cording.

Attach your zipper foot to your machine and move your needle over to the far right.

{move over that needle}

Now tuck your cord into the middle and fold over.

Now sew close to the cord, creating a casing around your cording.

It really was that simple
Hooray!!

Happy Sewing!
